Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick, Creamy Concealer and Corrector Review

Back in February I decided I wanted tryout a new concealer and having heard some amazing things I headed straight to Bobbi Brown in my local House of Fraser. Whilst browsing at the counter I was approached by the Bobbi Brown make up artist who was lovely. She asked what I was looking for and and when I mentioned concealer she offered to try it out on me, this is one of the main reasons I prefer counters to shopping online. You can be colour matched and try the products before buying, never feel pressurised into purchasing though.

She first popped on the corrector which is a pink (or peach depending on skin tone) coloured cream which helps to cancel out dark circles, something I have a huge problem with. The corrector has a lovely creamy consistency and a really good coverage to cancel out the dark circles.  I was a little sceptical to start with that this would work but it has an amazing effect at covering dark circles.

The next item applied was the creamy concealer. This item is skin toned so covers the pink of the corrector. I apply this all around my eye and down towards my nose and it does cover a multitude of sins. I have quite large pores around my cheeks and nose and this concealer covers them so nicely. I picked up the kit which comes with a translucent powder which helps to set the concealer in place and stops it from budging all day, I tend to apply this after foundation along with my normal powder.

Next up I asked to try a foundation, I'm on a huge quest to find the perfect foundation unfortunately I'm not too sure if this is it. The foundation stick is a solid foundation that has a build-able coverage and is relatively creamy. It's perfect for popping into your handbag for touch ups on the go. The downside for me is that I find it makes dry patches more noticeable so your skin does need to be well moisturised and I also find it can be hard to blend. Although once on it does last all day.

You can see from the swatches above the different products. I find that my face is naturally darker than the rest of me which I'm told is not unusual. Overall I'm relatively impressed with all the products. I would definitely repurchase the concealer and corrector but I'm still undecided about the foundation stick. You can pick up these products from the Bobbi Brown website or at a Bobbi Brown counter.

Corrector £18, Creamy Conceler kit £24 and Foundation Stick £28.

Spending Ban- January

Hello pretty people! As some of you may know I'm getting married this year and so I have a lot of saving to do! In order to achieve my goals I have inflicted a spending ban upon myself to stop me from buying anything unnecessary. Here I aim to share my tips and tricks that I am trying out in order to not spend money and use up all the products sitting at the bottom of my drawer. I know many people try a spending ban especially in January but seem to lose focus in the following months!

Let me tell you how I have done so far....

January
In January I was really quite good, I only bought a few bits from Lush that I needed...you can see the haul here. I have found that this month was pretty easy for me as I didn't get the chance to go shopping much.

A couple of things I have been trying to ask myself is "do I need it?" ,  "will I use it up?". If the answer to these are no then I don't buy it. I also ask myself "do I have something similar?" if the answer is yes then I don't buy it. This can work for all manner of things not just beauty products, its great when your food shopping too!

This post will be on going and updated throughout the year and I am looking for reader tips to put into the post so please comment and tweet me some suggestions!

Tangle Teezer review

Hey guys!!!

Today’s post is about an item that I absolutely could not live without- my tangle teezer!! Like seriously what did I do before I had this in my life! Now I know there have been loads of reviews over the interweb of this very item but I cannot help but give my own opinion.

As I have stated in various posts I have very oily fine hair but I am trying to grow it out and it gets soooooo super tangled its unreal! I have to sleep with it in a pony tail or it becomes a huge mess in the morning and I can’t brush it out at all. This is where the tangle teezer comes in. The fine bristles of the brush and their plastic texture are amazing! It just glides through the hair painlessly and I find my hair is left super smooth after using it. By using my tangle teezer my hair doesn’t have as much breakage and is left nice and strong instead of being weakened the way a normal brush would when trying to untangle.

I picked up my tangle teezer in Boots for £10.99 and would recommend it to everyone!

milk_shake Conditioning Whipped Cream review

Hello everyone!!!

Today's review is on the milk_shake conditioning whipped cream which I received in the December GlossyBox and I have completely fallen in love with it! Milk_shake are a brand that I had heard of but hadn't actually tried any of their products so when I received this I was quite happy as I really wanted to try it! The idea of putting a conditioning mousse into my hair was a completely new concept for me, I have used mousse in the past to get that amazing volumised look but never for moisture.

"Rich in Milk, Casein and Wheat Proteins this conditioning foam increases and strengthens the internal structure of the hair whilst Vitamins E and B5 condition and smooth the hair leaving it soft, shiny and full of vitality." taken from here.

I really think that this product lives up to what it says. My hair is left super soft and shiny and I do think it has been a lot stronger recently although I think it may take a little while of using this product to see big difference in my hair strength in the long term. Although I have super oily hair, this product has not left my hair greasy at all and I really enjoy using it. The product itself smells amazing!!! Like milkshake, although some might find it a bit sweet to start with once run through damp hair it leaves a lovely scent and I just can't resist smelling my hair throughout the day! Yummy!! The mouse if great as it’s not sticky and doesn’t leave that crispy feeling in your hair!

I have a 100ml bottle and will definitely be repurchasing as soon as I run out! You can pick up a 200 ml sized bottle from Here  for £11.95

Have any of you tried this product? Do you have any reccomendations on other moisturising hair products? Please leave a comment bellow!

Mini Lush Haul

Hello everyone, I thought I would write a mini haul post today. Although I'm on a major spending ban I picked up a few bits that I needed and a few extras to make bath time more interesting.

Fist up I headed straight for my trusty Ultrabland. I bought a pot of this product last year and it lasted me around 6 months. I reviewed the product on my blog in July which can be found here. This time I picked up the 100g pot and I expect it to last quite a while. It cost £10.75 and can be bought direct from Lush.

Next up I purchased Love Lettuce face mask. I've used this mask before and really enjoyed it so thought I would pick it up again. This is what Lush say about their product
"This mask is a seaweed gel with exfoliating granules through it.
Ideal for those who want to clear away dead skin and brighten the face, whilst also gently treating it to softening ingredients." I shall let you know how I get on with it. Love Lettuce face mask cost £5.95 and you can pick it up direct from Lush.

I then pick up a couple of Bath Ballistics, Butterball and Honey Bee. Butterball is a small ballistic which is white in colour and has a vanilla scent it also has little bits of cocoa butter in it which is great for moisturising the skin. I love coming out of the bath all nice and soft and lovely and smelling amazing! Honey Bee is a new ballistic to me as I decided to try something new. I love the smell of honey and this ballistic contains honey, aloe and rhassoul mud which makes it a very soothing ballistic. I look forward to trying it out very soon! Butterball is £2.45 and Honey Bee is £3.15.

Finally I picked up a bubble bar although this one is more of a bubbleroon. I picked up Green Bubbleroon as I was attracted to its fresh smell. I love bubble bars and decided to try this one for a change. Theres nothing quite like a warming bubble bath to cheer you up especially when this one small product will last for quite a few baths. I am really looking forward to trying this product! you can pick it up for £3.25 from here.

I hope you have all enjoyed my small haul. unfortunately these will be few and far between at the moment but I have lots of product reviews coming up in the future.

Take care lovely people!

Happy 2013!!!

Happy new year beautiful people of the Internet!!! 2012 was a pretty good year for me but I'm looking forward to an even better 2013.

This year is the year I move in with my fiancé who iv been long distance with for the past 3 years (we have been together for 4). We move in at the weekend actually which is super duper exciting but also really scary. I'm moving down to Bath to be with him whilst he finishes his Phd. So I'm leaving everyone I know behind and moving to a completely new area with no friends. I plan on keeping you updated on this journey and how I fill my time and try and make new friends. If any of you live in the Bath area and are looking for a short and crazy friend please let me know haha.

This year is also the year I marry said fiancé. This wedding has already been 16 months in the planning with another 8 and a bit months to go. If any of you are interested in wedding related posts please let me know I don't want to bore you all if your not interested.

So now that uni is finished and I'm moving to start my new life soon. I'm really hoping to get back into blogging in a bigger way than ever before. Iv found that over the past year although I've blogged a bit I've never had much consistency so that really needs to change. I need to discover what blogging means to me and to find my own niche. As my blog name suggests I plan on having a lifestyle, love and relationships with beauty thrown in kinda blog. I have a pretty massive obsession with beauty and as much as I love blogs that are all about beauty or fashion I also like to know more about the person behind the blog. So that's what I'm going to try and do for you lovely lot. I'm planning to do a series on how to be in a long distance relationship and make it work. I think I'm somewhat of an expert and its really unbelievable how many of you out there are in a LDR and it's so hard when the people around you don't know what your going through so I'd like to help you all and give you some tips on how to make it work based on what has worked for me.

So I think I shall leave this post here as it is pretty long. The next time I blog shall be from my new home at the start of next week. Until then take care pretty people!!
